Often as architectural designers we look for symmetry when designing as it provides balance to a room or exterior and is easy on the eye. Too much symmetry however can become a little boring and predictable. Here are some photographs I have taken on recent travels, showing the benefits and pleasure in symmetry and also the excitement and originality of non-symmetry or a-symmetry.
